During the Jornadas de Transfans Españolas convention, to be held in Zaragoza from October 1st to October 3rd, 2010, a custom contest will take place, open to everyone.

Up to 2 Custom figures can be presented for each contestant, and a first and a second prizes will be awarded. Also a special prize will be awarded for the audience's favourite. The prizes will be worth 100, 50, and 50 euros respectively.

These are the rules for this contest:

1st ACAT Custom Contest “City of Iacon”

The Asociación de Coleccionistas y Aficionados a los Juguetes Transformables, ACAT announces the 1st ACAT Custom Contest  "City of Iacon”.

Rules

1. Any fan from any part of the world may freely enter the contest.

2. The custom must consist on models or figures, may they be a.)modifications, combinations or repaints of existing figures, b.) new figures using parts of already existing figures, or c.) whole new figures made from scratch. The figures must represent a transforming character, beeing it a homeage to an existing character or invented, and it can or not actually transform.

3. All the works must be unpublished; any work totally or partially published in any media will be expeled. Any work that had participated in other contest will be expelled.

4. The works can be made in any kinf of material, like plastic, metal, resin, papel, cardboard or any combination that serves the author to make his work.

5. Each work can be enclosed with up to five photographs in 9cmx13cm or 10cmx15cm format wich diplays various poses and transfomations of the figure.

6. The work must be submitted inside a sealed box including the figure, the photographs mentioned in paragraph five, a 10cmx15cm sign with the name of the figure in Arial 14-point format (optional), photocopy of ID card or  equivalent of the author and phone number and/or email contact.

7. Each contestant  may compete with up to two different figures, but can only win one prize. In case of winning several awards, the highest ranked one remains.

The deadline for submission will be  9/30/2010.Every work received before or in that exact date will be accepted.
The works may also be handled 10/1/2010 during Jornadas de Transfans Españolas.

The works will be displayed by the Treasurer of ACAT, José Ramón Marín Uriarte, who is responsible for making a numerical reference between the jobs and their authors in order to display the works anonimously.

9. The Jury’s Fist Award will consist of transfoming toys worth 100 Euros. The Jury’s Second Award will consist of transfoming toys worth 50 Euros. The Audience Special Award will consist of transfoming toys worth 50 Euros.
 
10. The votes for the Audience Special Prize will be made by the attendants to the Jornadas de Transfans Españolas that will be held from the 1st to the 3rd of October, 2010 in the city of Zaragoza, Spain. The deadline for voting will be until 12:00 on October 3rd. In the event of a tie, the Jury shall issue a casting vote. The awarding of prizes will be announced on October 3, 2010 at 13:00 in the venue of the Jornadas. Non-attendant winners will be informed personally throw email or telephone.

11. The Jury will be formed by the members of the Asociación de Coleccionistas y Aficionados a los Juguetes Transformables ACAT who are present and not participating in the contest. The Jury shall issue, if necessary, the casting vote, will award the prizes and decide on unresolved issues in these rules, being those decisions unappealable.

12. The works will be returned to their creators in the same boxes they were shipped or handled. The creator bears the cost of shipping, which will be paid when the organization communicates to do so. The creator has a deadline of two months after the communication to withdraw his figure or pay for shipping. All the works that are not removed after the deadline, will become a part of ACAT’s patrimony.

13. The winning works and the rest of contendant ones will be the subject of a special report that will be publisher on ACAT’s webpage,, www.asoc-acat.es.

14. The winner of the Jury’s Award, the Jury’s Award runner up, and the winner of the Audience Special Award will be awarded the highest advertising, according to ACAT’s possibilities.

15. Non-winning authors will be informed through the media coverage and ACAT website: www.asoc-acat.es

16. Participation in this competition implies full acceptance of these rules. Any unforeseen event not covered in these rules shall be decided by the organization or the Jury.
